Hance Yu is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, installation, and moving images, with a focus on fabric sculptures. His works often engage with themes of surveillance, ruins, alienated bodies, and urban ecologies. Drawing inspirations from field researches, daily experiences, horror and thriller films, he tends to use a cold, sinister, and playful visual language to explore the ambivalence and existential dilemmas faced by individuals in modern urban environments, as well as the contradictory relationships between culture and nature.
